Signs of Meth Contamination

Signs that the processing of meth may have occurred on site and testing should be conducted include:

  • Glass containers containing clear liquid with white or red colored solid on the bottom
  • Large amounts of lithium batteries, especially one that have been stripped
  • Propane tanks with fittings that have turned blue
  • Large amounts of cold tablet containers with Ephedrine or Pseudoephedrine as ingredients
  • Coffee filters containing unknown substances that may be Sulfuric, Muriatic or Hydrochloric Acid
  • Rubber tubing attached to bottles or jars

Signs that meth may have been consumed on the premises include:

  • Yellowing of walls, fixtures and furniture
  • General messy conditions, accumulation of trash, overall lack of upkeep
  • Property destruction to include punched out sheetrock and damaged appliances
  • Surveillance equipment
  • Smoke detectors removed or disabled
  • Physical symptoms include itchiness, burning eyes or throat, metallic taste in mouth and/or trouble breathing
  • Unusual chemical like odors
